The first time I heard the song "Blaze of Glory" I got hooked for life. It wasn't until a decade later, after the Alarm's singer, Mike Peters, had recorded a version especially for and dedicated to me, that I found out the song was originally written for my other favorite singer, Bono, of U2. Here's a link to a Blaze of Glory mp3 dedicated to yours truly. And a link to the lyrics.

And here is what I think is on of the best record sleeves ever, from an early single of theirs called "The Deceiver" (on the left) , along with a few others of theirs from my collection. On the right is front and back of a 7 inch bootleg of The Alarm's most saught after first single "Unsafe Building". Fantastic song!

The Alarm broke up as a band in 1990, but after a long hiatus Mike Peters has reformed the band with new members, including Craig Adams from The Mission UK playing bass, Steve Grantley from the punk band Stiff Little Fingers pounding the drums, and on lead guitar James Stevenson who was in Gene Loves Jezebel and Generation X. They are fantastic -- here's a link to the official website www.thealarm.com
