Among my interests music is the most important to me. I play both the guitar and have purchased for myself an Irish bouzouki (Trinity College Brand) to learn Irish traditional music. I enjoy rock and folk songs, currently some Neil Young and Irish music for personal enrichment. My favorite rock band is The Beatles and I am also an avid U2 fan and a fan of Natalie Merchant and her old band 10,000 Maniacs. In Irish music I love The Pogues who blend Irish music with punk and love Christy Moore, Donal Lunny and bands like Planxty, The Chieftains, Danu, and The Clancy Brothers. |

I enjoy a wide variety of beer and home brewing has become a personal hobby that I don't get around to doing nearly enough. The picture at right is of a home brew I did a couple years ago. My latest was a Fuller's 1845 clone with a recipe my brother Greg came up with and my next beer to make will be a standard Irish ale recipe from Northern Brewer. As far as drinking, Guinness is my standby but I need variety in life so love tying local microbrews and beers from around the world, usually prefering ales to lagers. Ales ferment at room temperature here in southern California and have top fermenting yeast and lagers (such as Budweiser) ferment cold with bottom yeast. |
